TICKETS & REMOTE VIEWING

In keeping with D.C. Fire Code regulations, KSB, SOC, SIS, and SPA graduates will be allowed five guests, each of whom must have a ticket to enter the appropriate ceremony. Students participating in the CAS ceremony will be allowed seven guests; tickets are not required for the CAS ceremony.

Students submit cap and gown rental orders beginning in mid-March via the my.american portal. (A postcard will provide details.) Students who order caps and gowns by April 4 will receive one extra ticket for the 9 a.m. SPA/KSB and 4:30 p.m. SIS/SOC ceremonies.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The number of guests is dependent upon the number of expected graduates. Tickets may not be reproduced or sold, and lost tickets will not be replaced. Students who need extra tickets should ask friends and fellow students if they have unused tickets that they are willing to part with. Tickets are particular to the ceremony; therefore, tickets for the 9 AM SPA/KSB ceremony cannot be used for the 4:30 PM SIS/SOC ceremony.

PICKING UP TICKETS

Students must present an AU ID to pick up tickets. Students will be asked if they have unused tickets that they would like to donate to the lottery.

LOTTERY FOR UNUSED TICKETS

Any unused tickets will be distributed by lottery beginning Wednesday, May 7. Lottery “winners” will receive an email notifying that they have 24 hours to claim a maximum of two tickets. Unclaimed tickets will be returned to the pool. The lottery will continue until all tickets are gone.

PICKING UP TICKETS AT “WILL CALL”

Students who are not able to pick up tickets between April 30 to May 9 may pick up tickets at the cap and gown distribution center (Santa Fe Room, Mary Graydon Center, Terrace Dining Room) on Saturday, May 10. On Sunday, May 11, students may pick up tickets at the Bender Arena box office.

REMOTE VIEWING

All May 11 ceremonies will be broadcast live at remote viewing sites in the Ward Circle Building, Rooms 1 and 2. The remote viewing site will be available for guests without tickets to the ceremony, and is convenient for guests with young children and persons who wish to avoid crowds. Commencement programs will be available at the remote viewing area. All guests with or without tickets to the ceremony are invited to the school and college receptions immediately following commencement. The ceremonies can be viewed in the residence halls via campus cable.
