Graduation Fair

The Campus Store will host the Graduation Fair on Tuesday, March 25, and Wednesday, March 26, from noon until 6:00 p.m., in the University Club, Mary Graydon Center, first floor. All August and December 2007 graduates and May 2008 expected graduates are invited to attend. The Graduation Fair is a convenient opportunity to purchase graduation announcements, class rings, diploma frames, and yearbooks, and place cap and gown orders. Attendance is optional.

Campus Store

In addition to organizing the Graduation Fair, the Campus Store sells class rings, generic graduation announcements, diploma frames, and hundreds of AU shirts, sweatshirts, caps, and other souvenirs. They will have extended hours during Commencement Weekend and are happy to assist you at 202-885-6300.

Graduation Announcements

Students may purchase either personalized or generic announcements. Generic graduation announcements listing the date and time of the ceremony will be available at the Campus Store. Beginning in late February, personalized graduation announcements (includes the graduate’s name) can be ordered directly from our vendor, Herff Jones.

DVD Sales

AU’s Audio and Video Systems and Services Group records the commencement ceremonies. DVDs can be purchased for $20 by completing the Commencement Video Order Form and sending it to the Audiovisual Department. Note that DVDs cannot sent to addresses outside the United States. For questions, call 202-885-2296.

Flower Sales

For guests’ convenience, American University has contracted with a local florist to sell floral bouquets in front of Bender Arena on commencement day.

Photos of the Commencement Ceremony

A commercial photographer from Chappell Studios will photograph each student approaching the stage and shaking hands with President Neil Kerwin. Following commencement, Chappell Studios will send proofs and ordering information to students. Please note that parents and guests will not be permitted on or near the stage to take photographs during the ceremony.

Yearbooks

The undergraduate student yearbook, The Talon, is produced by students. Portraits of graduating seniors will be taken in February 2008 in Mary Graydon Center. To purchase a corporate ad or a senior ad of congratulations (due around February 1), see the Talon’s Web site. For questions, call 202-885-1420.
