December 3    Responses due for August/December Graduates Reception   
Week of Dec 24    16-page Commencement Guide mailed to permanent address   
January 14    Graduation applications accepted via my.american for students beginning their final semester at AU    
Late January    Nomination process begins for University Awards (President’s Award-$1000, Scholarship/Service-$500, and Student Achievement-$250)   
February 4    Deadline for May 2007 graduation applications via my.american   
February/March     Schools and colleges select student speakers    
March 1    Scholarship/Service Award nominations due   
Mid-March    Postcard mailed to August/December 2007 graduates (diploma address) and students cleared for May 2008 graduation (local address), containing instructions for online regalia orders via my.american (credit card payment)    
March 21      President’s Award and Student Achievement Award nominations due    
March 25 & 26     Graduation Fair, noon – 6 pm, MGC Rooms 2 & 3   
Early April     2008 Commencement Program goes to print   
April 4    Deadline for regalia orders   
Late April     Instructions on regalia and ticket pickup emailed to all who order regalia   
April 30 - May 10    Registrar’s Office distributes tickets to SPA/KSB and SIS/SOC graduates (May 10 - ticket distribution in the Santa Fe Room, Mary Graydon Center, Terrace Dining Room)   
May 6 - 10      Senior Week Events   
May 7 -10    Regalia available for pickup in Santa Fe Room, Mary Graydon Center, Terrace Dining Room during business hours; Line-Up information distributed with regalia   
May 10     Phi Beta Kappa Induction, 10:30 am, Kay Chapel (invitation only)
Baccalaureate Service, 12:30 pm, Kay Chapel (open to all)
Honors Convocation, 2 pm, Friedheim Quad (rainsite: Bender Arena) (Honors Program and University Award recipients)
Toast to Graduates, 8 pm – Katzen Arts Center (free to graduates)             
May 11    Commencement Ceremonies – Bender Arena  (Receptions in italics)
SPA-KSB Ceremony, 9 am (SPA: UClub; KSB: Amph)
CAS Ceremony, 1 pm  (CAS: Katzen)
SIS-SOC Ceremony, 4:30 pm (SIS: Amph.; SOC: UClub)
Commencement participants must return rental regalia to Campus Store by 8 pm   
May 18     WCL Ceremony, 1 pm  (WCL: Quad)
