SETH Graduate Dr. Maryam Al-Ali's book Faculty Attitudes Toward Sakai Course Management System: An Educational Perspective is available in paperback on Amazon.com. The book is about faculty attitudes towards the open source course management system, Sakia, and is based on research Dr Al-Ali completed for her doctoral dissertation at AU.

SETH Professor Kamel Igoudjil's Students win Human Rights Essay Contest
Students of SETH graduate
and adjunct professor Kamel Igoudjil, who teaches at School Without Walls
in DC, won all the
top prizes
in a human
rights
essay
contest.
The contest was put on by the United Nations Association of the National
Capital Area. The students were honored at the annual UNA/NCA Human
Rights Luncheon held
on Capital
Hill December 10th, the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human

Listen to NPR's Scott Simon interview Cosby Hunt, Social Studies teacher
at Bell Multicultural High School in DC, about teaching this historic election
Cosby was one of three teachers interviewed in his classroom for a November 8th
story on Weekend Edition about teaching students during the campaign and after
the election of Barak Obama for President. Hunt was a participant in AU's Strengthening
the Teaching of American History program which provided American history educators
from the District with strategies for improving student understanding and appreciation
of traditional American history through graduate level history and education
courses at full scholarship. He has also mentored AU student teachers in his
classroom and is one of DC's National Board Certified teachers.
