May 27–July 27
This is a major exhibition of paintings by one of the great figurative artists
working in the last 40 years. Always challenging and often provocative,
Shannon is an antidote to the Washington Color School and its doldrums. The
exhibition’s catalogue features an interview with the artist conducted
by James Demetrion, former director of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
