Meet with an Advisor
The Career Center offers one-on-one advising to meet the specific needs of students in CAS, SIS, SOC and SPA.
- Ask questions about internships or co-ops (paid and unpaid opportunities to learn and gain experience).
- Obtain guidance in making career decisions and an introduction to career resources.
- Find help assessing your values, interests, skills and personality.
- Receive coaching on finding a job, writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, networking, and salary negotiations.
- Ask questions about graduate and professional school.
Meet with a Merit Awards Advisor
- Get information on nationally competitive merit scholarships, awards, and fellowships. Research opportunities in the Merit Awards Listing.
- Call 202-885-1804 or visit the Career Center to schedule an appointment (these appointments cannot be scheduled online).

Drop-In Appointments
No sign up or appointment is necessary. Just show up!
Some Career Center school teams have scheduled drop-in hours to provide an opportunity for as many students as possible to ask a quick question, have a brief review of resume or cover letter, simply meet their advisors and introduce themselves.
It is not a substitute for regular appointment. If you need interview coaching, or more work on your resume and cover letter, or your question requires longer consultation and/or research, you should set up a scheduled or same-day appointment with the Career Center.
You may have to wait if somebody dropped in before you, however consultations are meant to be brief so wait times should be minimal.
