On Campus Interviews:

If you are coming to campus for on campus interviews, your interviews will take place in the Career Center on the 5 th floor of the Butler Pavilion. The Career Center opens at 9am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and at 10am on Thursdays. Please park in the Bender Arena garage on the 5 th floor (directions leading into the garage are included below).

If your interviews start at 9am , please knock loudly at the front door upon arrival. It's best to arrive around 15 minutes before your interviews are scheduled to begin. Parking passes should be requested at the front desk as soon as you arrive. The pass will then need to be placed in the window of your vehicle. If you would prefer to receive your parking pass by mail before you arrive on campus, please contact Blair Ufer, Employer Services Coordinator, at ufer@american.edu or 202-885-1814.

Information Sessions

If you are coming to campus to conduct an Information Session, your session will take place in a room on campus that has been reserved for your organization. Please check with the Career Center for the exact room location. The following links display campus maps that may be helpful: http://www.american.edu/maps/ 

After 5pm , parking on AU's campus is free in any lot. Before 5pm , you can obtain a parking pass from the Career Center front desk. Please park on the 5 th floor of the Bender Arena Garage in order to easily go back to your car to display the pass in your car window. Information Tables:

If you are coming to campus to host an information table, your interview tabling will take place on the first floor of Mary Graydon Center(MGC), adjacent to the Information Desk. You must check in with the Information Desk prior to tabling. There are three tables adjacent to the Information Desk, each with space for only one chair. At most times, there will be three different organizations tabling at the same time. Click here for a floor plan of MGC.

By Car:

COMING FROM I –95 South (Virginia/NC) - Take Beltway WEST toward Tysons Corner

COMING FROM I-270 - Take Beltway toward Northern Virginia

From Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway): Take exit 39 ( River Road ) and follow signs toward Washington . Continue east on River Road to the fifth traffic light. Turn right onto Goldsboro Road . At the first traffic light, turn left onto Massachusetts Avenue . Continue on Massachusetts Ave. for about two miles, through the first traffic circle ( Westmoreland Circle ). Continue straight for one mile, and turn right at the fifth traffic light onto campus.

Once on campus, follow main road through tunnel. At stop sign at end of tunnel, turn 180 degrees to the right and enter parking garage. If you are going to the Career Center , park on the 5 th floor and enter doors to the right.

From Arlington , VA : Cross the Key Bridge and turn left onto Canal Road at traffic light at end of bridge. Get into right lane and follow Canal Road up hill. At this point, it will become Foxhall Road . Continue on Foxhall Road until it ends at Nebraska Avenue . Turn right onto Nebraska Avenue . At the first traffic light, turn left onto Rockwood Parkway , and make an immediate right onto campus.

Once on campus, follow road around through four stop signs. At fourth stop sign, turn left. At next stop sign, you will see the entrance to the parking garage ahead of you. If you are going to the Career Center , park on the 5 th Floor and enter the doors to your right.

From Tysons Corner , VA : Take Rt. 123 to the Chain Bridge. Turn right off of the bridge onto Canal Road . At the first traffic light, turn left onto Arizona Avenue . Continue on Arizona Ave through light at MacArthur Blvd to the end. Turn right onto Longboro Drive (which will become Nebraska Avenue ). Turn left at second traffic light onto Rockwood Parkway , and make an immediate right onto campus.

Once on campus, follow road around through four stop signs. At fourth stop sign, turn left. At next stop sign, you will see the entrance to the parking garage ahead of you. If you are going to the Career Center , park on the 5 th Floor and enter the doors to your right.

By Metro from Union Station, National Airport or downtown Washington

The closest Metro stop to American University is Tenleytown/AU (also called Tenley Circle ) on the Red Line. AU's campus shuttle runs regularly from Tenley Circle to American's campus, less than a mile away. When you get to the top of the escalator, take a left to exit on the Tenley Circle side. The shuttle runs every ten to fifteen minutes and the pick-up for the main campus is at the corner near Hollywood Video.

Exit the shuttle at the Ward Circle stop. If you are going to the Career Center, walk across the campus quad. The Butler Pavilion will be between the Mary Graydon Center (MGC) and Battelle-Tompkins, set back from the quad. The Career Center is two floors above the school store.
